The Iranian and Kurdish Women’s Rights Organisation (IKWRO), is a UK-based charity that provides specialist support to women and girls - particularly from Middle Eastern, North African, and Afghan backgrounds - who are at risk of:

  • ‘Honour’-based abuse
  • Forced or child marriage
  • Female genital mutilation (FGM)
  • Domestic violence

IKWRO offers:

  • Advocacy and Independent Domestic Violence Advisor (IDVA) services.
  • A specialist refuge for women at risk.
  • Free counselling in multiple languages (Farsi, Kurdish, Arabic, English).
  • Training for professionals on harmful practices.
  • Workshops in schools and universities on healthy relationships.
  • Campaigns for stronger laws and policies to protect women’s rights.

The FGM, virginity testing, and hymenoplasty training is provided free of charge.
