PIPOT (People in Positions of Trust)

A PIPOT allegation may also be triggered by concerns in an individual’s personal life. For example, they may have committed a criminal offence against an adult with care and support needs or there may be other concerns such as domestic abuse or child protection.

All agencies should have a PIPOT Lead, for those who work or volunteer with adults and their families

  • Learn about the different scenarios you may face in your setting;
  • Find out more about whistleblowing and DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service);
  • And consider examples of organisational or institutional abuse
