The Iranian and Kurdish Women’s Rights Organisation (IKWRO), is a UK-based charity that provides specialist support to women and girls - particularly from Middle Eastern, North African, and Afghan backgrounds - who are at risk of:
- ‘Honour’-based abuse
- Forced or child marriage
- Female genital mutilation (FGM)
- Domestic violence
IKWRO offers:
- Advocacy and Independent Domestic Violence Advisor (IDVA) services.
- A specialist refuge for women at risk.
- Free counselling in multiple languages (Farsi, Kurdish, Arabic, English).
- Training for professionals on harmful practices.
- Workshops in schools and universities on healthy relationships.
- Campaigns for stronger laws and policies to protect women’s rights.
