Recognising and Responding to People of Diverse Ethnic and Cultural Backgrounds who are Victims and Survivors of Domestic Abuse and faith-based abuse (IKWRO training)

The Iranian and Kurdish Women’s Rights Organisation (IKWRO), is a UK-based charity that provides specialist support to women and girls - particularly from Middle Eastern, North African, and Afghan backgrounds - who are at risk of:

• ‘Honour’-based abuse
• Forced or child marriage
• Female genital mutilation (FGM)
• Domestic violence

IKWRO offers:

• Advocacy and Independent Domestic Violence Advisor (IDVA) services.
• A specialist refuge for women at risk.
• Free counselling in multiple languages (Farsi, Kurdish, Arabic, English).
• Training for professionals on harmful practices.
• Workshops in schools and universities on healthy relationships.
• Campaigns for stronger laws and policies to protect women’s rights.

The Recognising and Responding to People of Diverse Ethnic and Cultural Backgrounds who are Victims and Survivors of Domestic Abuse and faith-based abuse training is provided free of charge.
